SDOT Deputy Director Barbara Gray Joins City of Toronto Leadership

    11/02/2016

SEATTLE – Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) Deputy Director Barbara Gray will be joining the City of Toronto as their new General Manager for Transportation Services.  She assumes her new role after nearly 18 years with the City of Seattle where she has held a series of senior positions involved in transportation and land use planning and design, culminating in her 2014 appointment as Deputy Director of SDOT.

“While Barbara leaves big shoes to fill, I am thrilled for her and excited to add another progressive transportation leader to one of North America’s fastest growing cities,” said SDOT Director Scott Kubly.

Barbara has a formidable record of implementing both cutting-edge policy initiatives and day-to-day service operations for Seattle communities.  She will now turn her talents to Toronto and several significant Transportation division priorities including their new Road Safety Plan, transportation accessibility and reliability, creating vibrant streets and public places, providing excellent customer service, prioritizing the use of technology and working toward eliminating the state of good repair backlog.

Barbara’s last day at SDOT is November 29, 2016.
