Mayor statement on tentative agreement between teachers, school district

    09/15/2015

Today, Mayor Ed Murray released the following statement after news that Seattle teachers and the school district have reached a tentative agreement that could end the strike:

“This is welcome news for Seattle families and students. I’m glad both parties were able to come together to reach a tentative agreement this morning. As we anticipate the upcoming teachers vote, the City will continue operating drop-in activities for children until the school year begins.”

This week, Seattle Parks and Recreation is offering drop-in activities for up to 3,000 kids at the City’s 21 community centers. Parents or guardians can still register online or in person at a community center.  Click HERE for a full list of community center programs. All registration is first come, first served.
